Around 150,000 cubic metres of sand has been dredged to maintain a clear and safe channel for boaties.

Southern Gold Coast beaches have benefited from the project, with sand delivered offshore of Bilinga, Snapper Rocks, Duranbah, and Fingal.

No sand has been placed at Kirra however, with an exclusion zone around Kirra Reef to prevent any sand deposition affecting the reef environment.
