Luna River dredging kicks off

Odisha Construction Corporation has started the Luna River dredging works in the State of Odisha, Eastern India.

According to the officials, the project was awarded through competitive bidding to the Kolkata based M/s Reach Dredging Ltd.

The company is involved in Indian dredging sector for creating and maintaining water bodies such as lakes, rivers, land reclamation works and mineral excavation through dredging.

Dredging on the waterway at the length of 6 km will increase water holding capacity and improve water quality for irrigation and for water supply purposes.

The work will last 11 months and is set to be completed within the agreed contract period, according to officials.

For this project, M/s Reach Dredging Ltd deployed two cutter suction dredges.
