Development WA’s Ocean Reef Marina is the newest, largest and one of the most challenging coastal projects to be undertaken along the Western Australian coastline.

Though first conceptualised in the 1980s, a mix of today’s commercial, recreational and residential development standards is set to ensure it meets the needs of Perth’s expanding northern development corridor.

Hosted by the WA Coastal, Ocean and Port Engineering Panel (COPEP) Technical Committee, this presentation provided by the project’s leading coastal engineers will introduce an overview of the general construction works completed on site and the challenges faced in the delivery.

Key take-aways will include:

  • opportunities to link different projects to achieve more sustainable development outcomes;
  • approval pathways for mega construction works adjacent to a marine reserve;
  • overcoming technical challenges to deliver large scale projects near sensitive environments.
