According to the Council, the Port Hughes Boat Ramp dredging scheme will commence on Thursday, 2 December 2021, and will last until Saturday, 11 December 2021 (weather permitting).

The project calls for the removal of large volumes of built-up sand from the mouth (entrance) of the boat ramp, and moving it to the Northern Beach.

The works are being carried out in line with Council’s licence from the Environment Protection Authority in an effort to give boat users easier access to the water, the officials said.

They also added that the boat ramp will remain open as usual during the works, however, there may be delays to access the ramp.
