Reclaiming new land for Faresmathoda Airport

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company CEO, Adam Azim, visited the project site of new Gdh. Faresmathoda Airport Causeway Project yesterday.

During this visit, he was briefed on the latest updates of the project.

The scope of the project includes:

  • land reclamation operations of 9780sqm,
  • construction of a 1200m runway
  • a 120m shore protection,
  • a 158m bridge,
  • a 280m approach road, road markings and installation of streetlights.

The project is valued at MVR 144,88 million ($9.4 million).

Faresmathoda Airport is a proposed airport being constructed on reclaimed land, aimed to serving the island of Faresmathoda, the Maldives.
