Dredging Corporation of India celebrates 46th birthday

Dredging Corporation of India Limited (DCI) today celebrated the company’s 46th birthday at its Head Office in Visakhapatnam.

Incorporated on this day 46 years ago, DCI has consistently catered to the dredging requirements of the major and minor ports across the country and abroad.

The celebrations were led by the MD and CEO, Prof Dr. G.Y.V Victor, Directors, Shri S Balachandran, Shri B Poiyaamozhi, Capt Anoop Kumar Sharma, Cmde Kartik Subramaniyam, senior officials, employees and their families.

Speaking on the occasion Prof Dr G.Y.V Victor outlined the journey of DCI through the years and recollected the invaluable contributions made by its past Chairman and all other employees in this stupendous journey spanning over four decades.

Prof Victor said: “This is a moment that allows us to consider what our aspirations have been over the years; reflect on 46 years of growth, grit and greatness; celebrate all that we have achieved together; and aspire yet again as success is never final.”

Prof Victor emphasised on the fact that how important was the recent historic execution of Ship Building agreement for construction of 12,000 Cubic Meter Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger for the country & Dredging Corporation of India.

He further added that the construction of this new dredger will be the first of its kind in India with the Beagle R 12 Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger to be built at Cochin Shipyard Limited under “Make in India” Initiative.
