Restoring Barataria Basin by Weeks Marine

Many of the projects Weeks Marine is currently busy on are providing significant benefits to the environment.

At the moment, the company is highlighting the work they are doing as part of the Spanish Pass project.

According to Weeks, this is part of a large-scale restoration program for the Barataria Basin to reestablish ridge and intertidal marsh habitats degraded due to:

• sea level rise,

• land subsidence,

• diminished sediment supply,

• storm events.

“We are proud to be part of continued efforts to restore some of the most important components of our ecosystem – marshlands – to a healthy state,” said the company.
