With immediate effect and for a period of approximately seven months, dredging works will be carried out at the North West Lamma Anchorage, the Marine Department Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) said.
The works will be carried out by a flotilla of vessels including:
- one flat-top work barge,
- one hopper barge and
- one tug.
The number of vessels engaged in the works will change from time to time to suit operational requirements, HKSAR said.
“A working area of approximately 50 metres around the lighter and barge will be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the lighter and barge,” according to their official announcement.
A silt curtain (large piece of netting used to contain mud and sediments) fitted with yellow flashing lights will be established within the works area.
