Work on the Hoarafushi Airport Shore Protection Project is moving ahead, with overall 55% project progress so far.
The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) revealed today that the breakwater profiling operations and construction of groyne are currently ongoing, with 94% and 70% completion respectively.

Scope of the project includes coastal protection and construction of a concrete culvert on the causeway which connects Hoarafushi island to the airport
The contract is valued at MVR 90.5 million ($5.8 million).
The project was contracted to MTCC by the Maldives’ Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure on July 26, 2021.
