Waterfire Dredging Project Phase 2 out for bids

The RI Coastal Resources Management Council (CRMC) announced recently that Waterfire Dredging Project Phase 2 is out for construction tender.

J.F. Brennan Company, Inc.

According to CRMC, the project consists of dredging approximately 35,000 cubic yards of a sand/siltmaterial from the Providence River starting at the Crawford Street bridge and extending to approximately the Point Street bridge.

CRMC also added that the dredging window for the Waterfire scheme is from early November 2022, through January 31, 2023 (if needed preparation work at the Quay can begin October 15).

Officials anticipate that the work will be accomplished with a hydraulic dredge that can fit under the low clearance bridges and can maneuver in the tight confines on their own.

However, contractors are free to propose another method of dredging as so long as they can meet all the performance standards and other permit stipulations.

The deadline for sending bids is Friday, July 15, 2022, 12:00 PM local time.
