ML Dredging almost done with Brighton Marina repairs

ML Dredging is about to complete maintenance dredging of the largest marina in the UK – the Brighton Marina.

Premier Marinas

This season’s large-scale dredging works will be finished by the end of October with the big ML dredger leaving the marina, Premier Marinas said.

Since arriving onsite, ML Dredging crews have worked continuously to complete the required dredging works to the full extent permitted under the Marine Management Organisation licence.

So far, ML has successfully removed sand and silt from the marina entrance and the approach channel. The contractor also worked inside the marina to deepen berths around the visitors pontoon and main fairway leading to the fuel dock.

With the completion of this phase of the project, Premier Marinas has now moved their cutter suction dredger Doris to the east jetty.

Doris’ manoeuvrability allows her to work her way through the marina with much less impact on marina users.
