The reclamation work comprised dredging 25.789 m3 of fine and compacted sand in the turning circle in the harbor, where the sand afterward was transported to a finger-pier.

The hopper dredger Ask R was connected to a pipeline mounted on a pontoon with a crawler in order to pump the sand controlled into the pier area.

According to Rohde Nielsen, the compacted sand made the dredging work more difficult, but Ask R completed the project in only four days.
