Pilbara Ports Authority (PPA) has just released the latest update on the Spoilbank Marina project in Port Hedland.

“Work may have paused on the dredging and construction of the breakwater until April 2023 (while the flatback turtles nest at Cemetery Beach), but the Spoilbank Marina team still have plenty of work to keep them busy,” according to the update.

Over the next few months PPA will:

  • Finish excavating the marina to the final depth and continue to build the western and northern walls;
  • Install 27 piles in the marina basin for the boat pens;
  • Install precast concrete panels on the boat ramp;
  • Finish the bulk earthworks and tidy the landside areas in preparation for the civil and landscaping works starting.
