“Now that the flatback turtle’s nesting season has finished, we’ve resumed marine construction activities at the marina,” Spoilbank Marina said.

Dredging will take place 7am to 7pm, seven days per week for the next few months.

This work will see the new navigational channel completed and connected to the marina basin.

“Recreational boaters are advised to stay clear of the marine construction zone while dredging is underway,” Spoilbank Marina said.

Pilbara Ports Authority is leading the delivery of the Spoilbank Marina, a project which will create a vibrant amenity for the Port Hedland community and improve safe access to deeper water, separate from the shipping channel which services the world’s largest bulk export port.
