Weeks Marine moving equipment from Duck to Southern Shores
Weeks Marine hopper dredge Magdalen has completed the pumping of sand in the Town of Duck.
“Please be aware, some shore pipe and equipment is still on the beach around Nor’banks Drive,” the town said in the update.
The equipment will be transported down to Southern Shores throughout the week. The removal of subline and remaining equipment at Diane St. is anticipated to occur on May 13. Port Trinitie will be restored to preconstruction conditions once the subline is removed, officials added.
After the equipment move, the crews will begin pumping sand on the beach at the northern end of the project in Southern Shores.
Officials anticipate that Weeks Marine will complete the Southern Shores beachfill by early June.
