According to DoT, the dredging is to begin around July 6th 2023. It will take the contractor approximately 10 days to complete the works.

Dredging will occur within Beadon Creek, both along the channel opposite the rock training wall, and alongside OMSB’s wharf.

DoT officials warned of increased commercial vessel traffic from the Beadon Creek channel and out to the Onslow Salt Spoil Ground B where the dredge material will be deposited.

The works will be carried out by the backhoe dredger ‘Ambiorix’ of Hall Contracting with the assistance of spilt hopper barges ‘AOM 14’ and ‘AOM 15’, and tugs ‘Bhagwan George’ and ‘Bhagwan Arafura Sea Delta’.
