“This final stage of construction will deliver a vibrant and culturally rich community amenity for locals and visitors to enjoy, ensuring the entire community benefits from the development of the marina precinct,” said Premier Roger Cook.

The $187.5 million Spoilbank Marina project is a key election commitment from the WA Labor Government, and is funded by the State Government, Town of Port Hedland, and BHP.

Construction is progressing well on the broader project, with the marina now connected to the ocean, the new navigational channel successfully created and work underway on breakwaters and marine structures.

The marina boat ramps are expected to be operational in late 2023, with completion of remaining marine and landside areas expected in 2024.
