The client “McConnell Dowell” awarded Rohde Nielsen a contract that involved dredging approximately 260.000 m3 of sand from the Tweed River entrance over two separate campaigns.

The first campaign started in May 2023, when the dredger Modi R successfully removed 200.000 m3 of sand from the river entrance.

The sand was then deposited in designated areas along the shoreline, serving as surfing amenities for the local communities in Queensland and New South Wales.

The project is set to resume its operations in September, marking the initiation of the second campaign.
