Lucky Bay dredging to commence in late August

Marine Safety SA made announcement yesterday that dredging operations are set to commence in Lucky Bay from late August 2023.

As reported, dredging will be undertaken near the entrance to the harbour and to some extent in the access channel.

During the works, discharge pipeline will rest on the seabed, however, the pipeline may be floated to facilitate dredge movements, Marine Safety SA said in the notice.

Based on the suitability of the dredge material being extracted, the crews will place it either on the beach to the north of the harbour or the southern side of the harbour.

Dredging operations are scheduled for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and expected to be complete in November 2023.
