Royal IHC completes track installation to URM Vehicle in Blyth
Royal IHC’s construction team has completed the track installation to its latest URM Vehicle (Underwater Remote Mining) at its Port of Blyth facility.
Using the technology from within the Royal IHC group, this 120t vehicle will efficiently cut and transfer material from a pit floor using a dredge system to a surface processing plant (also designed and built by Royal IHC).
Part of the Hi-Traq® family, this URM vehicle has four tracks to maintain constant ground contact and tractive performance irrespective of ground conditions.
It is highly manoeuvrable and delivers consistent pressure to the cutting face; losing no traction whilst overcoming traversing slopes and obstacles.
