Manson nets Regional Harbor Dredging Contract

Manson Construction Co. of Seattle, Washington, has won a $23.9 million USACE Regional Harbor Dredging Contract (RHDC).

According to the Department of Defense, work will be performed in Morehead City, North Carolina; Savannah, Georgia; Brunswick, Georgia; and Wilmington, North Carolina, with an estimated completion date of April 15, 2024.

The work for Brunswick Harbor for maintenance dredging will require a hopper dredge(s) to remove an estimated 2,000,000 CY of dredged material that will be placed in the Brunswick Ocean Dredged Material Disposal Site (ODMDS).

The Savannah Harbor maintenance dredging will require a hopper dredge(s) to remove an estimated 735,000 CY. Dredged material will be placed in the offshore disposal areas.

The work for Wilmington Harbor consists of maintenance dredging of Wilmington Harbor Baldhead Shoal Channel Reach 3 by a hopper dredge. This includes removal and disposal of approx. 825,000 CY of dredged material that has accumulated in the channels since they were last dredged. The Government furnished disposal area is the Wilmington Harbor Ocean Dredged Material Disposal Site.

The work for Morehead City Harbor includes maintenance dredging of the Morehead City Harbor Cutoff and Range A and disposal of approx. 1,170,000 CY of dredged material. The dredging will require a hopper dredge(s), mechanical dredge(s) (clamshell, dragline or dipper) or cutter suction dredge(s). Disposal of dredged material will be in the Nearshore Placement Areas and/or the Morehead City Ocean Dredged Material Disposal Site.
