EXCLUSIVE: New cutter suction dredger Nikolai Rusanov hits the water

The Astrakhan Oblast based Stroyliderplus shipyard hosted an official launching ceremony for a non-self-propelled cutter suction dredger (CSD) Nikolai Rusanov yesterday.

The vessel is being built for state-owned Rosmorport and will be deployed for dredging operations on the Volga-Caspian Sea Shipping Canal (VCSSC).

According to Rosmorport, the keel was laid at the shipyard on September 23, 2022. The vessel delivery is scheduled for the end of this year.

The new dredger is set to begin its operation on VCSSC during the next year.
