Senator Padilla said: “I am proud to have also secured funding for projects that will improve the quality of life for Bay Area residents by providing cleaner water and improving public health.

Some of the projects across the Bay Area that will receive federal funding include:

  • Redwood City Harbor Dredging – $6.74 million: This funding will provide for maintenance dredging at the Port of Redwood City,
  • WETA Vallejo Ferry Terminal Reconfiguration – $3 million: This funding is set to help reconfigure the Vallejo Ferry Terminal to eliminate the need for costly dredging at the boat dock. This will reduce service disruption for passengers, reduce environmental disturbance, and increase service efficiency, said Padilla,
  • Hamilton Airfields Wetlands Restoration in Marin County – $1.8 million: This funding for the Hamilton Wetland Restoration Project will provide restored tidal and seasonal wetlands at the former Army airfield on San Pablo Bay in the city of Novato, etc.
