EXCLUSIVE: Kinbidhoo land reclamation begins

A groundbreaking ceremony to mark the commencement of the Th. Kinbidhoo Land Reclamation Project in the Maldives took place this morning.

The Honorable Minister of Construction & Infrastructure, Dr. Abdulla Muththalib, officially inaugurated the ceremony.

The scope of work for the project includes:

• 25 hectares of reclamation operations,

• 306,162 cubic meters of dredging operations,

• installation of a 1,528-meter drainage bioswale.

The project is valued at MVR 148.20 million ($9.5 million).

According to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), their Chief Project Management Officer, Mr. Ahmed Latheef, and the company’s senior officials attended the ceremony.
