International Association of Dredging Companies (IADC) has released an article explaining the use of acoustic sensors in response to the growing demand for maritime trade and the expansion of port facilities.

The story discusses the optimization of real-time dredge monitoring systems using acoustic sensors in response to the growing demand for maritime trade and the expansion of port facilities.

Larger vessels necessitate dredging to accommodate their size, making the process continuous, expensive, and resource intensive. Blind dredging, without real-time feedback, incurs costs such as contract penalties, lost production and increased fuel usage.
