Yangshan Deepwater Port is the world’s largest automated container port with an annual throughput of over 20 millions TEU.

Reclamation started in 2002 and has been undergoing several phases of expansion by using dredged sediments as filling materials.

Also, it has a quay length of 15 km, and is connected to Shanghai by the 32 km long East Sea Bridge.

The Delegation also visited the CCCC Dredging (Group) office in Shanghai and its world’s largest testing laboratory for dredging and marine works, as well as simulators for dredging vessels.

The laboratory houses a wave channel of 107m in length, 2m in width, and 2.5m in depth, researching into innovative, smart marine structures/vessels and green marine ecology.
