The project involves two areas – starting with a sandbar built up inside the breakwall from Marina Way to Yacht Club Way, to remove about 60,000 cubic yards of sediment.

The second stretch is along the short breakwall by Kincaid’s Restaurant, where 2,000 yards will be hauled away and dumped farther out in the ocean.

Dredging of King Harbor along the breakwall began in February with a scoop dredge, tugboat and spoils barge, operated by contractors Manson Construction.

This project is crucial for maintaining a safe and navigable waterway for all boaters, said the City of Redondo Beach, CA.
