It has been estimated that the coastline at Seaview is losing up to five meters annually.

Under the project, the Office of Public Works (OPW) has approved funding of €668,921 for proposed works which include the implementation of 155m of rock armour coastal protection fronting several houses at Seaview (Bastardstown) on the Wexford Coast.

The proposed works directly protect these houses and some 155m of the access road.

The Minor Flood Mitigation Works and Coastal Protection Scheme was introduced by the Office of Public Works in 2009. Since then, 20 funding applications by Wexford County Council have been supported under this program.
