According to HID, the offshore jack-up barge will be used as the working platform of the offshore excavator for dredging and digging trenches in the seabed. The excavated trenches are set to be used for laying submarine freshwater transmission pipelines.

HID also added that the each part of the platform can be designed and built into a 40-foot container, making sea transportation safer and more efficient.

The ultra-low power consumption of 64kw can drive the operation and construction of the entire platform, greatly saving the operating costs for customers,” said the Chinese company.

The barge was delivered to Seaworks Company in Egypt.
