The pen project, costing $3.3 million will see a new jetty constructed, providing increased vessel accommodation and also allowing for easy loading and unloading of ferry passengers from the head of the structure.

SMC Marine WA has been contracted to deliver the new floating pen set that will accommodate 34 new vessels up to 25 meters long.

The new infrastructure is set to provide much-needed berthing facilities for the City of Greater Geraldton,” said Transport WA.

The marina is a popular base for seasonal charter boats and visiting recreational boaters due to its proximity to the Abrolhos Islands, a popular destination for fishing and diving.

Facilities available include a service jetty, universal access fishing platform, boat ramps and long and short-term vessel accommodation.
