USACE Proposes Tampa Harbor Maintenance Dredging (USA)
USACE announces tender for Tampa Harbor maintenance dredging. The project work consists of dredging shoal material from Cuts A, F, & G of Tampa Harbor.
The Base consists of dredging 23,000 CY of material from Cut A and placement onto Egmont Key below Mean Low Water (MLW) between monuments 7 and 10.
The placement area at Egmont Key is approximately 9.9 nautical miles from Cut A. The depths for Cut A are 43 ft required and 2 ft allowable overdepth. Option A is to repair the erosion on the inside of the dike near the Weir Structures and close off the Weirs to eliminate any discharge from the site.
Option B consists of dredging 62,000 CY of material from Cut F with placement in 3D disposal site located approximately 8.1 nautical miles from the dredging site. The dredging depths for Cut F are 43 ft required and 2 ft allowable overdepth.
Option C is to dredge 151,000 CY of material from Cut G with placement in 3D disposal site located approximately 7.5 nautical miles from the dredging site. The dredging depths for G are 34 ft required and 2 ft allowable overdepth.
Magnitude of construction is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. This solicitation will be issued on or about 24 July 2009 with the bid opening on or about 23 August 2010.
