 CCCC Shanghai Dredging Bags Yangtze River Deal

On March 19th, CCCC Shanghai Dredging Co., Ltd. and Yangtze River Estuary Waterway Administration Bureau of the Ministry of Communications jointly signed the construction contract for section A and section C of the maintenance and dredging work (2012) for the 12.5m-deep waterway at Yangtze Estuary, and the integrity contract.

The total contract value reaches 834 million yuan.

The project is located around Beicao water area at Yangtze Estuary, which is to maintain and dredge the 12,5m-deep waterway of a length of around 125km down the Liuhe Estuary of Yangtze River.

Considering the expected annual silting intensity at the Yangtze Estuary, the project is to be divided into 3 construction sections, among which, section A by CCCC Shanghai Dredging Co., Ltd. is for the fairway depth maintenance with a construction quantity of 46,000,000 cubic meters; While section C is for constructability complement during flood seasons, the construction volume is around 4 million m³.

The project is of great significance in promoting the construction of Shanghai as an international financial center and shipping center, and the economic and social development of Yangtze River Delta and its basin regions.
