USA: Lake Providence Port Dredging Progresses Well

The Lake Providence Port dredging project is expected to continue three weeks.

The Butcher, a cutter-head dredger, is hacking away at the underwater sand built up in the main channel of the port.

They call it the Butcher, but we don’t care what it’s called as long as it gets the jobs done,” Rep. Rodney Alexander said.

According to knoe.com, the silt is being pumped into the Mississippi River with hopes to be guided down stream by the current.
