USA: Stretch of Mississippi River near Greenville Closed

According to, an 11-mile stretch of the Mississippi River, near Greenville, Miss. was closed yesterday.

The water level has forced the river to be closed intermittently since August 11,” the Coast Guard said.

There are currently four dredgers working to clear a channel from St. Louis to Vicksburg.
