Indonesia: Jakarta Prepares for Floods

The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) has announced that rainy season would hit Jakarta this October.

Head of Water Resources Maintenance for East Jakarta Water Management Public Works Sub-Department, Sunarto, stated that his department supports the effort to prevent flood by normalizing water channels and dredging wastes and mud in the water channels since last week.

Beritajakarta.com reports that flood anticipation has already been conducted by preparing 450 pumps in 123 locations and 177 sluices in 42 locations.
