Ravestein to Build Dredger for Jan De Nul.

Ravestein B.V. has been awarded the contract for the design and construction of a backhoe dredger type Ravestein 900B for Jan De Nul Group. The vessel will be delivered in January 2014.

This will be the second contract for building a Ravestein 900B in short time, after successful delivery of the backhoe dredger Peter the Great to DEME/NDC.

The Backhoe dredger will have the following dimensions:

Length – 60.00 meter

Width – 18.00 meter

Depth – 4.50 meter

Dredging depth – 20.00 meter

Assisted – 2 x 500 kW

Total installed power – 2.150 kW

Crane Liebherr – P 995.

The pontoon has three tilting spuds and an hydraulically operated spud carrier.

Ravestein will build the Backhoe dredger completely in their yard in Deest Holland. The excavator will be delivered by Liebherr Colmar France and will be installed in Deest.

Beside this Backhoe, Ravestein B.V. designed 4 standard types:

– RAVESTEIN-1200B with a Liebherr 9800

– RAVESTEIN-900B with a Liebherr 995

– RAVESTEIN-750B with a Liebherr 9250

– RAVESTEIN-500B with a Liebherr 984.
