Dredging at New Baku Port Nears End

Azerbaijani Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov stated that the dredging project at the new Baku International Sea Port in Alat, located 65 km south from Baku, now entering its final stage.

ABC.az reports that the new port will cover the 400-hectare territory, including 100 ha for the International Logistics Centre.

The preliminary estimations are that the entire project could cost about $500 million, informs turkishweekly.net.

According to Mammadov, the main goal is the completion of this capital development project in 2014.
