Dredger Causes Damage to Stranraer Harbour

A moored dredger in Stranraer has caused serious damage to the harbour walls, according to gallowaygazette.co.uk.

The boat, which was tied to the west wall, has pulled at the structure in front of the new harbour master’s office, lading to cracks in the wall and pulling at the pontoons.

A council spokesperson said: “Part of the west wall at Stranraer Harbour has become unstable and will have to be taken down and replaced. Before the wall can be replaced, a geotechnical investigation must be done to assess ground conditions. This information will influence the design of the replacement wall.”
