Australia: St Kilda Harbour Development Works Underway

St Kilda Harbour Development Works Underway

Mariners are advised of marina construction works as part of development works at St Kilda Harbour by Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron (RMYS) on the existing breakwater and the marina to provide a safe boat harbour facility.

Development works will consist of installation of new piles and construction of a new marina to the western side of the existing marina. Three temporary yellow special mark buoys are installed to mark the northern edge of the construction zones. Northern end piles will be fitted with temporary yellow flashing lights.

Land-based and marine plant and equipment including a jack up piling barge will be operating during the day. All floating plant and equipment will be anchored at night east of the breakwater.

On-water plant, equipment or potential hazards to navigation will be marked appropriately with lights from sunset to sunrise as per IALA standards.
