Australia: Maroochydore Beach Renourishment Kicks Off

Maroochydore Beach Renourishment Kicks Off

Sand renourishment work at Maroochydore Beach is on track to be completed before the summer storm season, with sand pumping starting today.

The extra sand will widen the beach, help prevent severe erosion and protect public facilities and infrastructure along Alexandra Parade and Aerodrome Road.

The popular stretch between Maroochydore and Alexandra Headland is worth around $80 million a year to the Sunshine Coast economy.
