CEDA Belgium Celebrates 25th Anniversary

Celebration of 25 Year

On 16 October 2013, the Belgian Section of CEDA celebrated its silver jubilee in the Bijloke cultural centre in Ghent.

It’s no coincidence that the city of Ghent has been chosen for this event, in fact, its famous university is of the main sources of qualified personnel for the Belgian dredging industry.

Ever since its foundation in 1988, the Belgian section of CEDA has been one of the most active within the dredging industry with regular meetings and site visits.

One of the main parts of the celebration in Ghent was formed by panel discussions, divided over two sessions, each with five members and lead by the famous journalist and anchorman of the Flemish radio and television network VRT Wim De Vilder.

The panel discussions were built up around two themes: “who will the future of the dredging industry look like?” and “what can the dredging industry mean with respect to the challenges of the climate change?”
