Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Co. has won the Rudee Inlet dredging contract, according to hamptonroads.com.
During this $2.86 million project, approx. 100,000 cubic yards of sand will be removed from the area.
Dave Hansen, the Deputy City Manager for the City of Virginia Beach, stated that dredging work will probably commence during the next week and it will last four days, depending on the weather.
The City Council yesterday approved funding for this development program, reports hamptonroads.com.
