Manila Flood Control Scheme Kicks Off

A flood control project in Manila, which consists of dredging and drainage repairs in commercial and residential areas including Quiapo and Binondo, has officially commenced.

Following a bidding conducted in December last year, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) awarded this contract to J.D. Legaspi Construction.

According to philstar.com, the company will design, build, rehabilitate, and upgrade existing pumping stations, which will divert floodwater to rivers.

J.D. Legaspi Construction will use the technology of Grundfos Philippines, Inc., which ensures greater pumping capacity and increases trash removal to reduce flooding significantly.
