RPS to Design Galway City Coastal Scheme

A coastal protection scheme from Sáilín to Silverstrand will be shovel-ready by the end of this year, announced Connacht Tribune.

Galway City Council has appointed RPS Consulting Engineers to draw up technical documents for the €7 m project, which will allow it advance to tender stage.

A spokesperson for the Council said that a source of funding has not yet been determined.

It is hoped that the design phase will be completed by the end of this year and the scheme will be ready to go to construction as soon as funding becomes available.
