ESCR Project Community Workshops Announced

The City of New York is getting ready to host, May 28th 2015, a series of three Community Workshops for the East Side Coastal Resiliency (ESCR) project, formerly known as the BIG U.

The purpose of the project is to reduce the risk of extreme weather and climate change, as well as improve quality of life and expand community access to the waterfront.

This project focuses on the neighborhoods near the East River between Montgomery and 23rd Streets.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT OBJECTIVES

  • Continue Public Engagement During the Design Phase;
  • Enable and Facilitate Input from Community Stakeholders through Design;
  • To Collaborate and Establish Design Alternatives for Each Project Area;
  • Discuss & Balance Opportunities with Project Goals.
