USACE Research Scientist in Australia

Dr Todd Bridges, the US Army’s Senior Research Scientist for Environmental Science, will in September tour Australia, giving presentations on dredging and sediment management and related issues.

He manages the $6 million per annum Dredging Operations Environmental Research program of the US Army Corps of Engineers, and is the Director of the Centre for Contaminated Sediments. Todd also currently leads the US Army Corps of Engineers Engineering with Nature program.

Dr Bridges will run an interactive workshop to discuss environmental impacts and benefits of dredging and sediment management and related issues such as beneficial uses of dredged material, contaminated sediment management, optimizing maintenance dredging, land versus sea placement of dredged material, real time monitoring of dredging, dredging policies, and the use of dredging to enhance ecosystem services and resilience.
