Corps to Discuss Yuba River Project
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Sacramento District, will host a series of public scoping meetings discussing the feasibility of ecosystem restoration in Northern California’s Yuba River watershed in late October and early November.
These meetings will present an outline of the study’s purpose, a tentative schedule and provide the first opportunity for public interaction with the project team.
The Corps and our non-Federal partners, the Yuba County Water Agency, will be on hand to discuss the study and answer any questions about the process and accept public comments.
The goal of the Yuba River study is to examine the potential for ecosystem restoration along the Yuba River. An integrated feasibility report and draft environmental impact statement will be developed to analyze possible measures. The Corps will serve as lead agency for compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act.
Three public meeting sessions are scheduled as follows:
• Wednesday, Oct. 28, 1–3 p.m.
John E. Moss Federal Building Stanford Room, 650 Capitol Mall, Sacramento, CA 95814;
• Thursday, Oct. 29, 5–7 p.m.
Nevada County Library Community Room, 980 Helling Way, Nevada City, CA 95959;
• Wednesday, Nov. 4, 5-7 p.m.
Yuba County Government Center Conference Rm, 915 8th Street, Marysville, CA 95901.
