Bird Island Pier Project VIDEO
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District Floating Plant worked to finish a small section of repair work on the Bird Island Pier, Buffalo, NY that they were not able to finish in 2013, October 21, 2015.
They placed approximately 200 tons of rubble mound stone in the five ton range on the Niagara River side of the pier to protect the structure and ensure it continues to function as a navigation and recreation structure.
The work was performed as a regular operations and maintenance repair of the structure.
