Coastal Workshop in Port Hadlock

Jefferson County Marine Resources Committee and the Northwest Straits Foundation are sponsoring a workshop on coastal process and erosion management on Saturday, November 14 at the Jefferson County Library in Port Hadlock.

Coastal geologist Jim Johannessen, the featured speaker, will share information about how landowners can protect and maintain their shoreline properties.

Topics include erosion management, alternatives to hard shoreline armoring and using native vegetation for slope stability and habitat.

The Northwest Straits Foundation also has grant funding to provide a limited number of free site visits by coastal erosion specialists to qualifying landowners.
