TSHD Severnaya Dvina Launched

The launching ceremony of the 2000m³ trailing suction hopper dredger Severnaya Dvina took place at the Song Thu Corporation shipyard (part of Damen Shipyards Group) in Da Nang, Vietnam, yesterday.

The vessel, built for the FSUE Rosmorport, has been named Severnaya Dvina after the river in the European part of Russia which flows into the Dvina Bay near Arkhangelsk and Severodvisk.

The ceremony was attended by Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Da Nang, Andrei Brovarets, Rosmorport Director General, Andrei Tarasenko, representatives of Damen Shipyards Group and Song Thu shipyard management.

Rosmorport will use the vessel for maintenance dredging within the seaport of Arkhangelsk areas.

Technical characteristics:

  • Length overall: 80.35 m;
  • Length between perpendiculars: 76.1 m;
  • Width: 16.2 m;
  • Maximum dredging depth: 22 m;

The Severnaya Dvina can operate under the temperature from -35°C to +40°C.
